VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
Road closures will soon take place in Valdosta as part of the ongoing construction of the Gornto Road extension project.
From this Thursday through March first, parts of Toombs Street will only be open to drivers needing to access homes or businesses.
Wayne Avenue to Victory Drive will be closed for three weeks during construction.
The Gornto Road Extension is expected to be completed by October.
"The contractors will come in and demo the existing pavement, re-grade the area, and place new rock and new curb and gutter in preparation for the road," said Jim Martinez, Engineering Project Manager.
In the coming months, drivers can expect parts of Oak and Patterson Streets to close for the extension project.
