Doug Porter, Chehaw Executive DirectorIt will soon cost you a little more to enjoy the great outdoors at Chehaw.
The general park fee for adults will increase from $2.00 to $3.00. The price for children will go from $1.00 to $2.00.
Park managers say it's been 10 years since they've had any type of increase.
"You can't think of anything that costs the same now as it did ten years ago. So we've tried to be frugal, we've tried to hold it off as long as we can. But we just think it's time now to do a little price increase to help us off set expenses," said Doug Porter, the Executive Director for Chehaw.
All the extra revenue will go toward general park operations.
"We get a lot of compliments on how clean it is, and how nice it is, and how safe it is. To maintain a facility like that, we have to have enough money to maintain it like we want to. So all the proceeds will go into general park operations," said Porter.
The increase will go into effect the first weekend of April.
