TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A missing elderly man has been spotted in Upshur County after never arriving at his girlfriend's house in Tyler, according to Police.

Sunday, Tyler Police received information that Willie Hubert Wingfield was spotted near the town of Big Sandy, driving a green 2000 Dodge Intrepid.

Wingfield was reported missing on February 1, leaving from Dallas to visit his girlfriend. A statewide Silver Alert was issued in hopes of finding him.

Police said Wingfield stopped to call for directions to the woman's house around 5:30 p.m. Friday and indicated he was at the CVS Pharmacy at Glenwood and West Gentry Parkway. At last contact, he stated he was somewhere on Queen Street.

Family members and law enforcement have been unable to contact him since. It appears his cell phone is no longer working or is turned off.

Wingfield is diabetic and is diagnosed with dementia and may be confused.

He is described as a African American male with gray hair and brown eyes. He is 5'7" and 135 pounds.

Wingfield is currently driving a green, 2000 Dodge Intrepid with Texas license plate number 640WFT.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at (903) 531-1000.
