People who have depended on Calhoun Memorial for medical care are disappointed, Friday.
One former patient told us he was taken there for an emergency visit once and he's not sure he would be here today if the hospital hadn't been there for him.
He says the nearest hospitals are now in Albany or Blakely and it's difficult for many people to make that trip.
"Well without a hospital here it can be a tragedy for a lot of people because a lot of people don't have the transportation to drive a certain distance, so it'll be a big tragedy for that to happen," said L.B. Ingram
Some people say they'll just pray they don't have an emergency which requires immediate medical treatment.
