One of several defendants in the infamous Brickhouse Productions murder case plead guilty this morning to aggravated assault. Anthony Seay will serve three years in prison, and will have to testify in the trial.
The D. A. says that Seay was inside fighting with security guards when the murder happened, but that he was party to the beating of LaShelton Kenard Stanford be fore he was shot.
The trial is on a break until Tuesday because they didn't have enough jurors, and more candidates have to be brought in.
That leaves seven Albany gang members to be tried in Dougherty Superior Court for the February 2010 beating and shooting death of Stanford at Brick House Productions on Schilling Avenue.
Prosecutors say Shenard Smith was the triggerman, who shot Stanford seven times, but that all are members of the East Side Mafia gang, were involved in his murder.
If convicted the defendants would face automatic life sentences.
