Albany Chamber looking forward to a successful 2013
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany Area Chamber of Commerce leaders are optimistic economic recovery will continue in Albany this year.
Nearly 400 business and civic leaders attended the chamber's 103rd Annual Dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown, Thursday night.
Chamber President and CEO Chris Hardy says they're hoping to attract a solid number of new business to the city this year.
One of the Chamber's main goals this year is to strengthen its membership.
"We've got to put more of a focus on membership. We are a membership based organization, so that's where our primary focus has got to be, restoring our membership and growing the size of our chamber. The larger we are, the stronger we are," said Hardy.
The Chamber also presented awards, Thursday night, including the Lifetime Service Award and Ambassador and Non-Profit of the Year.
The Lifetime Service Award winner is Emily Jean McAfee. The Ambassador of the Year is Haryl Dabney and the Non-Profit of the Year goes to the Liberty House.
