THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Congressman got input from folks like you Thursday on issues such as gun control, agriculture, and the economy.

8th District Representative Austin Scott spoke at the Thomasville Rotary meeting.

Scott said he was in town to listen and answer questions about Congress's plans for potential new gun laws and for a budget.

"We passed a bill last week that said if congress did not pass a budget, that there would be no pay for the members of Congress. And the House has passed a budget every year. It's the Senate that has not adopted a budget in almost four years now. So hopefully the Senate will produce a budget this year and there will be consequences for them if they don't," said Scott.

Scott spent part of the afternoon touring Southwest Georgia Tech and their new virtual hospital.
