Building smacked by SUV

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An SUV driven by 22-year-old Tyler Causey smashed into an apartment building on Downing Court near Nottingham Way Thursday afternoon.

Causey wasn't able to stop before hitting the brick building because of a medical condition.  He was disoriented, and told EMTs that he could not remember what happened.

First responders said that his foot was jammed on the accelerator, and the wheels were still spinning when they arrived. They sprayed it with water to prevent a fire.

Causey is being treated at Phoebe Putney.
