DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -

WALB have received reports of damage in many counties in southwest Georgia that were under a tornado warning Wednesday night including Dougherty, Lee, Terrell, Tift, and Decatur.

Officials with Georgia Power say as of about 4 o'clock Thursday morning, about 50 homes in Dougherty County were still without power. They have since then been restored.

Damage on Nelms Road included massive trees down across the road and in many people's front yards. At Wright Turf Farms, massive pieces of metal that were once part of storage units for the turf grass company now lay crumbled up on the ground.

Officials are warning folks to take extra precaution as they head to work Thursday morning. They say down trees, road signs, and even possible downed power lines could cause dangerous driving conditions for folks heading to work.
