Parade honors VSU national championship teams

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Whether you want to call Valdosta Winnersville or Titletown, the community honored three more national championship teams from Valdosta State with a parade this afternoon.

The parade featured VSU's NCAA Division II national championship teams.

Teams honored were the 2011 men's tennis team, the 2012 softball team, and of course the 2012 Blazers football team.

The coaches, players, the marching band, and cheerleaders put on a show for the crowd.

One man said he's just happy the Winnersville community can come together and support the college teams.

"To support my Blazers. Instead of seeing Wildcats and Vikings only, now you see Blazers," said fan Rodrick Netter.

Valdosta Mayor John Gayle and Lowndes County Chairman Bill Slaughter jointly declared today as Blazers National Championship Day.
