Tornado Warnings pass with light damage in Albany area

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The NWS added Lee, Tift, and Turner to a Tornado Warning for Worth, Decatur, Baker, Calhoun, and Dougherty Co. which expired at 7:00PM.

WALB cameras are spreading out through 10 Country scouting for scene of damage. So far it has been light in comparison to what could have been, as a powerful squall line raced through Southwest Georgia late Wednesday afternoon.

Here is what we know so far in terms of any damage:

AMERICUS - Trees down on Lee St. and Valley and Columbia Streets, and Hwy 49 North, near Souther Field.

ALBANY -  Tree down on Stuart Avenue, at Westover and Oakridge; Tree down in the 600 block of West 3rd Av.

CALHOUN Co. - A few trees down on power lines.

EARLY Co. - Lots of trees down on power lines. One damaged a house on Chancey Mill Road east of Blakely. No injuries reported.

 MILLER Co. - Scattered reports of trees down. No major damage reported.

 BAKER Co. - Scattered reports of trees down. No major damage reported.
