THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -
A recent Georgia state house candidate is out of jail on bond accused of attacking another woman in Thomasville.
Police say 27-year Haley Shank forced her way into 24-year old Caitlin Gilbert's Clay Street home around 11:30 yesterday morning.
Gilbert claims Shank grabbed her by the hair and refused to leave until 911 was called.
Shank released a statement to us saying "The statements as quoted from the Thomasville Police Department...have included many falsehoods and inaccuracies. I ask that my community continue to have faith in my veracity. I have been advised by legal counsel to give no further information until this incident has been resolved."
"They were told by the residents at the house, Ms. Shank actually grabbed the victim by the hair, pulling some of her hair out and also causing some scratches to her hand," said Lt. Eric Hampton.
