ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Jury selection continues in the murder trial of eight accused gangsters charged with gunning down a man outside a music studio.

Court officials expect jury selection to continue through Friday as lawyers review 150 potential jurors.

The eight are standing trial at the same time for the February 2010 beating and shooting death of LaShelton Kenard Stanford at Brick House Productions on Schilling Avenue.

Prosecutors say Shenard Smith was the triggerman who shot Stanford 7 times.

All the defendants are suspected members of the East Side Mafia gang.

If convicted of murder, they would face mandatory life sentences.

Judge Denise Marshall said she wants opening arguments to start by Monday.
