Burglar fails to smash into Dougherty County store

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

A crook fails in his attempt to smash into an East Dougherty County convenience store.

Dougherty County Police are looking for a masked bandit who tried to smash the front door of the Pitt Stop on Sylvester Road about 3:50 Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the man tried to use a concrete pole pulled out of a neighbors yard to smash the door, but it would not break and the pounding set off the burglar alarm.

If you have any information about this attempted burglary, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
