The Worth County School Board received information last night about a possible security threat today at Worth County High.

The Worth County Sheriff's Office and Fire Department were at the school earlier this morning conducting a security check before school started.

The 'all-clear' has been given and classes have started. The school will operate on 'heightened alert' today.

Heather Greene issued this statement on behalf of the board of education-

"Officials with the Worth County Board of Education say schools will operate under heightened alert today after they received information last night."

"Firefighters and police checked the school early this morning and cleared the high school to open as normal. This precautionary measure is part of an ongoing investigation."

Parents are urged to leave their children in school, and not check them out.
