    The Albany Police Depart is engaged in a recruitment campaign to get its officer corps up to full strength. APD is budgeted for 214 officers, and right now is about 20 officers short of that level, and

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany police arrested five suspected burglars.

They charged Rodercia West, Mascon Lovitt, Kadolphie Spencer, Tyrell Lawson and Ko'Leon Campbell after a two-day sweep.

Cops tell us the thieves hit several homes and businesses in the city and county.

"We recovered quite a bit of property especially flat screen televisions DVD's, Recorders, cameras," said Sgt. Edward Heath with the Albany Police Department.

The estimated value of the stolen property is around $3,000.

County police also expect to file charges against Lovitt, Campbell and Lawson.
