ATLANTA, GA (WALB) -

ATLANTA (AP) - There's been a lot of talk about gun laws since a shooter killed 20 children at a Connecticut elementary school in December. So far in the Georgia Capitol, there's been little action.

A spokesman for Gov. Nathan Deal and House Speaker David Ralston say GOP leaders won't allow any new gun restrictions to be adopted.

But they also haven't endorsed proposals from other, less powerful Republicans to lift restrictions on where Georgians can carry their weapons.

Ralston has expressed some interest in a proposal from Rep. Paul Battles to let local school boards designate administrators who can carry guns on campus. The proposal would leave the decision up to the school board and the chosen administrators would have to get weapons training.
