DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

One Coffee County family that said goodbye to their soldier for the last time in 2009 is hoping that his presence will live on through the opening of a new restaurant.

It began as just an idea, but now Little Mike's family restaurant is up and running. The restaurant is named after Michael Clark Junior, a soldier that was killed in a car crash overseas.

The restaurant specializes in soul food and home cooked meals.

"I can go into a shell and do nothing but he wouldn't like that so I did something that I thought he would love and that's open a business and put my whole family to work," says Michael Clark Sr., Soldier's Father/Owner of Restaurant.

Clark's father says the opening of this restaurant wouldn't have happened without God. And from the pictures on the walls to the colors used in the restaurant, everything was done with the soldier in mind. The official opening event hasn't been scheduled yet.
