ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The 27th Annual Quail Unlimited Celebrity Hunt teed off today... hosting a golf tournament for the first time.
Eighty-four golfers took part in the 18-hole tournament... including 30 military veterans.
The golf tournament was held to honor and benefit veterans... especially wounded warriors returning from war.
"The welcoming has changed," said Kirt Rothe, Homeland Security Branch director. "The whole perception of the public when warriors come back specifically has changed the whole mentality. Programs like this, Wounded Warrior Project, and all the other things going on has helped change that perspective."
Veterans will also be honored tonight at the Albany Civic Center at the landowners' dinner.
The quail hunting begins tomorrow morning on property around South Georgia.
