ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission leaders hope an upcoming quail hunt will lead to new jobs.

The Georgia Quail hunt attracts business leaders from around the country and shows off South Georgia.

The annual event has led to investment from industries in the past.

It's an opportunity for local leaders to showcase the beauty of Albany and Southwest Georgia to prospective companies.

Last year... guests from the "outdoor network company" decided to move their business to Albany... and officials hope more companies will follow.

"Overall it's an opportunity for folks to see a side of Georgia they don't normally see," said Ted Clem, EDC president. "They're familiar with Atlanta but maybe not southwest Georgia, so it's a great opportunity for us to get some exposure."

The 25th annual Georgia Quail hunt will take place February 6th through the 8th.
