ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Hunters from across the nation are in Albany for the two biggest outdoor events of the year in South Georgia.

The 27th Annual Quail Unlimited Celebrity hunt begins today with the events first celebrity golf tournament.

Volunteers with Quail Unlimited were busy Wednesday making last minute preparations for the celebrities and sponsor hunters. Organizers say they're getting good response for Friday and Saturday's concerts, and 300 tickets were sold on Tuesday alone.

"We've had a lot of support from surrounding areas and I know we've sold a lot from Valdosta.   We have a lot of people from out of town that will be coming in and staying at the local hotels," said Quail Unlimited volunteer Tonya Bowles.

The Quail Unlimited Golf Tournament tees off at Stone bridge on Thursday.

The celebrity hunts will be held Friday and Saturday with concerts at the Civic Center Friday and Saturday nights.
