Sherwood Christian Academy senior Patrick Stanford entered Tuesday's game at Terrell Academy needing 11 points to reach 1,000 in his Eagle career.
Stanford reached that mark just before halftime with a three-point basket.
The game was briefly stopped where Patrick was congratulated by his teammates, coaches and SCA headmaster Dr. Glen Schultz.
"It is good to get it out of the way. We are in a region game where it really matters. It felt really good. I am struggling right now. It felt good to go ahead and get it out of the way. Maybe my nerves will calm down a little bit, said Patrick Stanford.
Stanford finished the game with 20 points but Terrell Academy collects the big region win over Sherwood Christian 74-58. Terrell Academy girls win easily over SCA 56-25.
