THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Drug agents arrested a convicted felon during an undercover operation in Thomasville.

Thomas County Narcotics Agents say they learned 32-year old Lamont Burkes would have marijuana for sale at the corner of Glenwood Drive and Pinetree Boulevard.

Undercover agents recognized the suspect in the driver's seat of a car and found a bag of marijuana in his possession.

"He did have over an ounce and a half of marijuana and he had over $1,000 cash. All total in the last week, week and a half I believe, we've seized over $10,000 from drug dealers," said Narcotics Commander Kevin Lee.

Burkes previously served a federal prison term for a drug conviction.

He's is charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute.
