Investigators from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have continued to investigate the death of Pamela Provenzano who was found on Monday, January 21 deceased lying in the a roadway on South West 44 Street, in rural Hamilton County.

As part of the investigation, an autopsy is being performed by the Medical Examiner's office in Jacksonville, Florida in order to determine the exact cause of her death.

During the initial investigation it was learned that Pamela Provenzano had possibly come to visit her father, Daniel Ovaert who lived in Lowndes County which led to the cooperative efforts between the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Late Monday evening, based on information that had been developed during the investigation, a public alert was distributed in an effort to locate Daniel Ovaert.

This morning, around 10:30 deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle described in the previous release, a 1997 Lincoln Continental. The occupant of the vehicle was deceased and has tentatively been identified as Daniel Ovaert based on evidence found at the scene. That death is now being investigated by the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation into the death of Pamela Provenzano is continuing by all three agencies. Persons who have information regarding this investigation should call the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office at (386) 792-1001 or the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office at (229) 671-2985.
