LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

UPDATE:

Lee County firefighters are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that displaced a Leesburg family.

The Barnes family, who lives in this house on Wiregrass Way, is assessing the damage from the fire that started in their guest room around 9pm Sunday night.

Family members say the important thing is that everyone made it out ok.

Right now, they're staying at a motel until the damage is taken care of.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.

A Lee County family is displaced after a late night fire.

Lee County fire officials say they received a call about a fire around 9pm Sunday night.  Officials say when they arrived at 120 Wiregrass Way flames were shooting out of the attic.

"They made entry into the house and found they had two fires.  Our next incoming engine, the next two men on that engine pulled the second line," said Todd Kirkland, Captain with the Lee County Fire Department.

Officials say the people inside the home were able to escape.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Authorities say the house is not a total loss, but the family will be displaced for some time.

We will keep you updated as information is released.
