ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A late afternoon crash involving an ambulance leaves one dead and three injured.

Georgia State Patrol troopers say Saturday afternoon 59 year-old Deborah Walls was driving her Buick north on the expressway when she crossed the median and hit a Dougherty County ambulance which was headed south.

Authorities say it's unclear what caused Walls to lose control of her car.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say Lindsey Satterfield was driving the ambulance.  Another paramedic and trainee were inside. The three were returning from a call. They were taken to the hospital and suffered minor injures.

The crash is still under investigation.
