ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The world's largest retailer is working to provide jobs for veterans who are just leaving the military.
Walmart plans to hire more than 100,000 veterans in the next five years.
Most of the jobs will be in Walmart or Sam's Club stores. Some will be in the distribution centers.
We talked to a South Georgia veteran who says it's a great idea.
"I think it's a great thing. I think companies should step up and do the same thing. Veterans are well disciplined and make great leaders and they're prepared for the workforce when they get out," said Army veteran Bobby Ruffin.
The hiring pledge begins on Memorial Day and is open to veterans within 12 months of leaving active duty.
