ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Owners of an Albany funeral home are relieved after police recover vases stolen from a cemetery, but the thieves still haven't been caught.

Back in November, vases were swiped from about 20 gravesites in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Friday, Albany Police officers returned nine of the vases that showed up at a scrap metal recycling center.

Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home owns the cemetery.

They're grateful that the cops stayed on the case, but still upset anyone would steal from graves.

"It's one of the most despicable crimes that can occur. Any crime is despicable, but the theft from a deceased person is very despicable," said Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home President David Stern.

No arrests have been. If you know anything about the thefts, Investigators hope you'll call crime stoppers at 436-TIPS.
