ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Thieves steal $3000 worth of transmissions from an Albany transmission shop.

Managers at Mr. Transmission in the 800 block of West Broad Avenue say they've had so many thefts in the last few months, they don't even report all of the crimes.

Thursday they discovered a hole cut in their fence.

Six transmissions, weighing between 75 and 100 pounds each, were missing.

The Business manager and owner say it's a costly and ongoing problem.

It's bad enough that you got the chain link fence they keep tearing up, " said general manager Dennis Gilbert.  " It would be nice to go home in the evening and not worry about people breaking in."

They're improving security at the transmission shop to try to stop the repeated thefts.
