BACONTON, GA (WALB) -

A gun isn't much good without ammunition, and some of it is getting hard to find. A Nationwide shortage is even affecting police.

Several law enforcement agencies in Georgia have bullets on backorder, some tens of thousands of rounds each.

Suppliers simply don't have enough ammunition to go around. The high demand for ammo has caused a spike in prices.

"Right now with people buying it all up, prices are very high, when I go to try and buy ammo, a lot of places are sold out, people are stockpiling, they are afraid they are not going to be able to get it," says James Larson, Gun Owner.

He says he uses powder and reloads his own bullets to save money.
