Ocala, FL - The National Transportation Safety Board says pilot error led to the plane crash that killed former Palmyra Hospital CEO Allen Golson.
Golson crashed the lane he was piloting on approach to the Ocala International Airport last January.
Investigators say Golson failed to maintain adequate air speed and altitude on final approach.
He died at the scene and his wife, Carol, was seriously injured.
At the time of his death, Golson was about to begin a new job as CEO of Ocala Health System.
Golson was CEO of Palmyra Medical Centers in Albany from 1995 to 2005.
