Man offers large reward for return of prized possessions

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Dougherty County man is offering a five thousand dollar reward for information about the theft of his rare gun collection. Jonathan Connell told Dougherty County Police that seven rifles, magazines, and a laptop computer were stolen on Tuesday evening from his home on La Costa Drive.

One of the rifles stolen was a M-S-A-R assault rifle. The value of the stolen items was more than fourteen thousand dollars. Connell says he spent decades collecting his guns.  Investigators say the thieves entered an unlocked door and appeared to know where the guns were kept.

"Because the house had not been, was not in disarray or anything.  Certain doors were opened, and nothing else was really disturbed," Said Sergeant Chad Kirkpatrick of Dougherty County police.

If you have any information about the theft call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
