ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal gave his support for a law aimed at reducing boating accidents and reforms for the state's juvenile justice system during his annual State-of-the-State speech to the General Assembly.

The Republican governor made the annual address to lawmakers Thursday morning.

It was a chance for Deal to outline his legislative priorities toward the beginning of the General Assembly's annual 40-day session.

Deal was also releasing his new budget plan to state lawmakers. Georgia is slowly recovering from a deep recession that prompted big spending cuts over the last several years.

More budget cuts are expected. Tax collections have been lower than expected and Deal has ruled out raising taxes.
