Lee County High School Principal Kevin Dowling says he's glad people are talking about ways to make schools safer and he supports more mental health counseling for students, but he hopes the government doesn't overstep its bounds with new regulations.
"We just have to be careful. We can, in this country, overreact sometimes and we have to be careful that were acting in the best interest of our students and our children without overreacting. That's a careful balance that I think our politicians have to watch and be careful with," said Dowling.
Dowling hopes leaders in Washington don't end up taking money away from actual education programs in their effort to keep kids safe in school.
