ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A veterinarian and her animals are found dead in a clinic in Pelham. According to Investigators the veterinarian euthanized her personal animals and then killed herself.
Dr. Edith Klein the owner and lead veterinarian at The Pet Health Care Center was found dead by employees when they came to open the small clinic off of highway 19 around 8:30 in the morning on Monday.
Deputies with the Mitchell county sheriff's office responded and immediately started their investigation. Officials say a motive is not clear at this time however they do believe financial problems involving the business could have played a part. There were no other employees or animals in the clinic at the time of the incident all six of the animals found dead were her own.
Several pet owners who visit the clinic regularly have tried to buy supplies unaware of the incident. They say they are shocked that anything like this could happen in the small town of Pelham.
