ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany family is rejoicing today after their stolen pit bull puppy was returned last night.

Burglars stole a puppy from an Albany home early Sunday morning from the Herring's duplex in the 2700 block of Homewood Court.

No one was home when someone broke through their back window.

The family says someone came to their apartment and told the neighbor they knew who had the dog.

They went to 11th Avenue where a person said a person had just run up to him in the yard.

The family believes someone say the story on the news and got scared and decided to return the dog.
