The Dougherty County Board of Elections is still pushing to get thousands of dollars back from a failed school board candidate.
The attorney for the board of elections say he's trying to schedule a hearing with a judge after the board spent more than $7,000 fighting a lawsuit filed by Reverend Lorenzo Heard.
Heard sued the elections board, trying to get his name on the ballot as an independent for the school board at large seat after the board ruled he did not properly qualify.
He dropped the suit and ran as a write-in candidate but lost to Dr. Lane Price.
