DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -

Dougherty County commissioners are being extra careful in making appointments to the library board of trustees.

Commissioner John Hayes says while all appointments are important, the library board is especially important right now.

"Right now we have an opportunity to make some real enhancements there and obviously, who sits on the board, I think has a lot to do with how well something functions," said Hayes.

Commissioners put Hayes on the library board last month because commissioners wanted to have more input in the board's decisions.

The appointments will be made on January 28th.  Folks have until Friday, January 18th, to apply.
