Albany Tech and Albany St. both split games, Darton scores huge win

It was a bitter sweet day for area college basketball teams.  The Albany Tech men scored a huge region win over Georgia Perimeter 58-47.  The Titans will get back to work against Waycross College on January 19th. 

The Lady Titans made a huge second half comeback but fell short of upsetting Georgia Perimeter, losing 61-58.  Albany Tech falls to 9-9 overall and 2-6 in the region. The Lady Titans will host Andrew College on January 19th.

Meanwhile, the Albany St. men fail to get its first SIAC win of the season after falling at Miles 75-69.  Rams fall to 1-8 on the season, 0-3 in the conference.  ASU will play at LeMoyne-Owen on January 14th.  The Albany St. women picked up its second SIAC win of the season after beating Miles 71-64.  The Lady Rams are now 4-6 overall and 2-1 in the SIAC.  The ASU women will also play at LeMoyne Owen on January 14th.

The Darton women notched its most impressive win of the season behind 28 points and 10 rebounds from Michelle Mitchell.  Darton beat number 9 Georgia Highlands on the road 69-64. The Lady Cavs are now 17-2 on the season and 9-1 in region 17 play.  Darton will host Atlanta Metro State on January 16th.
