ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A special benefit concert is in downtown Albany honored a woman battling breast cancer.

Hundreds of people came out to the State Theatre to support Jessica Wilson. Wilson is a mother, wife and nurse who has been fighting breast cancer since April. Friends of the Wilson family organized the event called "Bleep Cancer" where some of Albany's best bands played. An art show and a silent auction and raffle were also part of the event. Phillip Phillips even made a special appearance.

"She's got some tremendous medical bills with cancers and John and myself have a lot of musician friends in common so figured it'd be a good way to start," says one of the organizers Patrick Foster.

Managers of the State Theatre held the event for free and all seven bands performed free of charge.
