Friends hold benefit for cancer patient

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some south Georgians are hoping for their community's support as they raise money for a friend who is suffering from cancer.

Jessica Wilson is a mother, wife, and nurse who has been battling breast cancer since April.

Saturday,  a benefit called Bleep Cancer will be held in Downtown Albany at the State Theater at 7 PM.

It will feature some of Albany's best bands, an art show, and a silent auction and raffle.

"We want those folk who want to do something but they don't know how but they do have the funds to be able to do it, to come out and just participate and be apart of this and change somebody's life forever," says Ladonna Urick, Event Organizer.

Some of the auction items include a round of golf for four at Nonami plantation and a dove hunting trip to Argentina.
