Drug raid made in Adel home

A convicted drug dealer is back in jail tonight after Adel Police officers raided his home today.

28-year-old Adam Robinson was taken away in hand-cuffs this morning after Adel Police officers raided his home in search of drugs. Investigators seized $2,000 worth of crack cocaine, $3,000 worth of marijuana, more than $800 in cash, a gun, and stolen electronics.

"Anytime we can get if off the street then we see that as a success, especially when we go in and execute a search warrant and no one gets hurt," said Major

With the help of the K-9 unit, their drug sniffing dog, Chrys, alerted authorities on where the crack cocaine and marijuana was located.

Investigators say an informant led them to believe Robinson was dealing the drugs. After a month of surveying the home on Lane Street, a dozen officers executed the raid before 8:00 this morning. They say Robinson, a father of four, was sitting on the couch with his daughter when they charged in.

"That child was secured by us, which is a number one priority of ours, and transported to the grandparent's house," said Major Rowe.

But it wasn't Robinson who caused a scene. His girlfriend's sister had an outbreak, yelling at neighbors. Lula Ruffin was arrested for disorderly conduct.

One neighbor said,"It's just ridiculous, I mean the kids can't even play, you know?"

Quincy says the community he grew up in isn't safe anymore. And investigators say this isn't their first run-in with Robinson.

"We've had run-ins in 2007, 2008, and 2010," said Jon Blake, Chief Investigator.

His most recent conviction was for dealing cocaine. He was still on probation today for that crime.

Robinson is charged with multiple felonies, including possession and intent to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana.

He's booked in the Cook County Jail.
