ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The national president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars spoke at the VFW in Albany Wednesday.

Leanne Lemley's message was to show veterans more appreciation.

Her theme for the year is "serving from the heart for our veterans."

She says that's what her organization is all about.

"If you saw all of the volunteer hours and the time spent aiding our military and veterans, their families and the organization within our community, you'd understand this is something that the Ladies Auxiliary Members do every day and in every way," said Leanne Lemley, Ladies Auxiliary VFW President.
