Albany Fire Department investigates house arson

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Albany Fire Investigators are looking into an arson at a home that was in foreclosure.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 6700 block of Newton Road about 6:15 Tuesday night.

No one was living in the home, but firefighters found a can of paint on the stove.

They say the eye was turned on to set the paint on fire.

Arson investigators say the paint can burned itself out, so there wasn't much damage to the home.

They're trying to find out who set the fire.
