EARLY COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

No children were injured when a car struck a school bus Wednesday afternoon in Blakely.

The driver of the car that hit the bus was airlifted to a hospital.

Troopers the bus stopped on U.S. 27 a little before four o'clock to drop off a student and had its flashers on.

53-year-old Charles Wilson said he was distracted by a dog crossing the road and didn't see the bus slowing down.

His Subaru Outback struck the left rear of the bus.

He sustained a shoulder injury and is charged with following too closely.
