LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Commissioner Dennis Roland proposed having $100 deposits for new garbage customers in the county and $100 deposits for delinquent customers the county takes to court.

Roland says the deposits would help cover major losses the county deals with because of customers who don't pay their bills.

In August, voters in Lee County shot down a measure that would have forced property owners to pay their garbage fees when they pay their property taxes.
