THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville man is in jail Tuesday accused of cutting his girlfriend with a knife.

Police were dispatched to 318 Allen Street twice in 40 minutes Monday night.

Officers say the first time they arrived, 27-year old Alfred Robinson and 34-year old Whitney Deibert told police nothing was wrong.

The second time, officers noticed cuts on Deibert's face and neck.

"We recommend that any time someone is involved with any type of domestic problems in their home or anywhere, they call the police and get someone involved. Get help. Don't stay in those types of situations because those situations can become very serious and they can even become deadly," said Lt. Eric Hampton.

Robinson remains in the Thomas County Jail charged with aggravated assault and interfering with 911 because police say he tried to prevent Deibert from calling for help.
