CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Gas prices started 2013 at a record high for this time of year and they've only gone higher since.

AAA says that upward trend likely will continue the rest of the month.

For the first time in a year, Georgians are paying more than the national average.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Georgia right now is $3.32 a gallon. That's up 7 cents in a week.

The national average is just under $3.30. That's up less than a penny in the last week.
