ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An East Albany man says he will rebuild his family home after it was destroyed by fire.

James Daniel says his father built this home in the 1300 block of East Fourth, and he has lived most of his life in it. About 5 o'clock Sunday night, his brother Lorenzo Daniel was cooking when the fire broke out. The fire quickly spread to the attic and destroyed 70 percent of the home.

"It was a family house," said Daniel.  "And like I say it will come back up again."

Firefighters estimate the fire damage at $46, 000.
