ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Tax preparers expect more clients this year. H&R Block says choose your tax preparer wisely because one out of five people they help has been the victim of bogus tax preparers.
"These people have a set price but then they don't be there at the end of the year, when you get that latter from the IRS they don't tell you we wont be there to help you because we are not in business. We done got your money, and left," said Manager at H&R Block Ashley Hale.
On the IRS website, they provide a list of ways you can check and see if your tax preparer is legitimate.
If you think you've been the victim, contact the IRS or your the police.
